Personal Project
This photographic series captures city buildings enveloped in protective wraps during their various stages of restoration. This project invites viewers to engage in a dialogue about the extensive renovation efforts occurring throughout Bristol, showcasing not only the architectural significance of these historic monuments but also their unique transformations during the restoration process. Through these images, I explore how the interplay of materials and techniques reveals new facets of these iconic structures, highlighting the beauty found in their temporary states.
In their most immediate realisation, they are transient forms that will in time breathe new life to many of the city's iconic historical buildings, many of which have sat derelict or decaying for many years.
